There exist two treatments for the disease – restoring the normal pigment (repigmentation therapy) and destroying the remaining pigment cells (depigmentation therapy).For the repigmentation of the skin, there needs to get the pigment cells to be recruited from those exist nearby. It means that these new pigment cells have to come from the base of the follicles of hair, from the border of the lesion or from the vitiligo patch provided that the depigmentation is not complete.
